A visit from Dad and Nickie
My dad was here visiting for several days, and we had a great time
He brought his yellow Lab, Nickie (not sure of the spelling), who, after a few days, made friends with our black Lab, Pippen. We took them to the beach one day, and they loved it. Here’s the dogs at the beach, and Dad with Nickie just before they took off to visit my uncle George.

A new Lewandowski in the world
Dan’s brother Eric and his wife Jennifer are the proud parents of Kristin Reese Lewandowski, born this afternoon. Eric says her middle name comes from Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups – the best flavor combo on the planet. Not sure whether to believe him or not – he’s such a kidder
As soon as I have a photo of her, I’ll post it. Now little Tommy has a sister! Bet he’s excited. I really wish we could go see them, but unfortunately, they live 700 miles away. Well, we’ll get to Michigan again soon, I hope. In the meantime, congratulations to the happy parents!
It’s A Girl!!!
Gotcha there for a second, didn’t I?
Actually, it is a girl, but not what you think. Dan and I will be host parents for the sixth time starting in a couple of months. Her name is Josephine (Josi for short), she lives in Berlin, Germany, and she’s apparently a volleyball fiend. Can’t wait to meet her.
Happy Birthday, Hannah!
Today is Hannah Gutdeutsch’s 18th birthday – Happy Birthday, Hannah!
With love, Kim and Dan

Hannah was our host-daughter for 10 months, from September 2004-June 2005, as an exchange student with Face the World. This picture is from a kayaking trip to Pennsylvania last spring.
Hannah lives in Norderstedt, near Hamburg, Germany.

My sister-in-law Barbara gave birth to Patrick on Friday, April 14. My dad’s birthday was yesterday, so he’s wishing Patrick had waited one more day
