Celebrating Julia Child’s birthday
To celebrate what would have been Julia Child’s 97th birthday, Dan and I went to see the movie “Julie & Julia” Saturday night. It was great fun
I’ve actually never been all that interested in French cooking, so I don’t have any of her books, but we enjoyed the movie. One thing I really liked was how her husband in the movie was so open and demonstrative about how much he was in love with her – assuming that’s all true, it looked like they had a great time together. Definitely worth seeing.

I remember seeing her show on a small 13″ TV in black&white on the counter back in the late 70′s in my grandmothers kitchen we would cook right along with her & make eveything she did. It was one of my most vived memories of my grandmother. When the movie Julie&Julia came out it was like someone was pulling be back in time. I had forgotten how my granny’s kitchen looked up til then &now more then 30yrs later I can tell you everything about that kitchen. And I will never forget the first time I helped my granny make all the dishes that we see. I was 5yrs old & was hooked for life. My grandmother past many many years ago now & I still have her “COOKING BIBLE” as we named it. And I have tought my daughter & son from it. It has become the family treasure.
Thanks for the interesting story
Love it.
